What do you want to do before you die? It’s time to stop procrastinating and making excuses as to why you can’t do something. There is no better time than now to create a list of the things that you want to do before you ‘kick the bucket’ and adding things that you have already done. Creating this list will help you to focus on enjoying and fulfilling your life – it’s never too late to start one. Your ‘bucket list’ can contain anything from small to large goals or something as simple as ‘baking a cake’.
Everyone should have a bucket list, especially those who don’t live their days by personal goals and plans, instead in a flurry of day-to-day activities. Even if goal setting is a part of your daily life, writing a ‘bucket list’ will help you find many new things to do and will give you an exciting outlook on what lies ahead. A ‘bucket list’ opens your mind to set totally context-free goals, where you list down anything and everything you have ever wanted to do, no qualifiers required.
The objective of a bucket list is to maximize every moment of your existence and to live your life to the fullest. It’s a reminder of all of the things you want to achieve during your time here, so instead of letting your days go by doing pointless activities, this will help to direct you toward what really matters to you. You will gain significant clarity and focus on what you want from your life.

Tips for creating your bucket list:

  •  write everything down that comes to your mind without worrying about how you’ll accomplish
  •  Keep writing until you have at least 100 items on your list and once you do, start going through and deciding which ones to do first.
  •  After you pick 2 items on your list, go do them or set a deadline to do them
  •  If you have lots of items that require time, money and travel, learn new ways of making money or creating wealth and freeing up more of your time
  •  Create rituals for every area of your life that will help lead you to doing the things on your list
  •  Go over your list weekly and stop making excuses as to why you can’t do something
  •  Step out of your comfort zone or you will never accomplish your list or progress forward in life
  •  Make sure your list has integrity to you
  •  Be willing to change your list as life goes on

Some good questions to ask yourself to help you write your list:

  • · Who do you admire and why?
  • · If you were granted 3 wishes, what would you ask for?
  • · If you were on your deathbed, what would you most regret about not having done?
  • · Where do you want to go?
  • · What would you like to be able to tell your former classmates at your high school reunion?
  • · What did you always want to do when you were a child?

Good vs. Bad Bucket List items:

GOOD: Vacation in Greece, own your house outright, learn to play your favourite song on the piano, attend a ballet

BAD: Travel the world (the whole world would be impossible!), exercise every day (technically impossible if you miss even one day).

Creating and achieving your ‘Bucket list’ is about deciding what you really want-which means setting goals, as well as planning, budgeting, and then taking the necessary steps to accomplish your goals. Taking action includes incorporating habits and routines into your daily life which will help you to gradually mould your life into a work of art that is uniquely yours.
